She supports the Surrey Place Convalescent Center, the Haven House, Seniors United, and the Historical Events Committee for White Springs. Now in its 17th year, Ms. Barnes is the founder of her local annual Blueberry Festival, a congregation of craftspeople displaying and selling their work. In the future, she hopes to spend more time with her great grandchildren, continue managing her business and start projects when she sees the need for them.
