Cynthia Houston Brickey is an Independent Business Owner through Amway, and she is also a writer and retired Nurse Educator with a wealth of knowledge and industry experience that she shares with her community. She has garnered a reputation of distinction over the course of a career, which spans more than 46 years, for her outstanding achievements, and for her benevolent spirit; Ms. Brickey has received various awards for volunteering and participating annually in African-American History activities, and she was an invited Keynote Speaker at various nursing and military organizations. She is also a recipient of various awards as granted by the Maryland Nurses Association, and she has received various military awards. Throughout her distinguished nursing career, Ms. Brickey worked in academic, corporate, hospital and military settings. She held a variety of key positions as a state employee and as a graduate school educator, and also excelled in military service. She was recruited to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then the University of Arizona. She was also offered a position at the U.S. Department of Army’s Health and Hygiene Agency, and served as a U.S. Army Nurse Corps reservist. When activated, she did a stint in Central America and was attached to the 18th Airborne Corps and the U.S. Southern Command. She has traveled extensively in both civilian and military capacities. Now retired, Ms. Brickey is continuing to expand her horizons. Currently an Amway independent business owner, she also writes and performs in one-woman plays.
